About Erin

Erin K. Sylte is a self-taught visual artist living in Portland, OR, where he was born and raised. His interest in art began as a child, where he would draw superheroes from the pages of his favorite comic books. Over the course of his life, Erin has explored a variety of mediums including jewelry-making and soldering, wire sculpture, painting and drawing. Erin’s current focus is on highly detailed hand-drawn pen and ink work that incorporates elements of the macabre, human anatomy, art deco, and sacred geometry. Erin’s artistic aesthetic is inspired by his interest in tattoo line work and some of his favorite artists including H.R. Geiger, M.C. Escher, and Zdzisław Beksiński.

Currently, Erin is working with Portland based death metal band, Eyes of Arcane, to create a series of album covers for their upcoming releases. Erin is also interested in content creation and storytelling, which inspired him to start recording time-lapses of some of his most recent drawings to his YouTube channel.

Erin accepts commissions and requests for custom work. He frequently updates his Society6 page with new pieces, so be sure to check it often!
